Watson: ‘We knew that it was an important game. I have been thinking about bowling the first over for a couple of days and I thought it would be nice to start off with a short ball. I felt good while batting. You have to let Warner play his natural game and when his mind is free, he can be devastating.’
Shane Watson is the MoM for his 3/26 and for his fifty.
Bailey: ‘We started very well. Watson started off well with the ball and he finished it well with the bat. The short ball was used nicely. As the tournament progresses, the pitches will get slow and low. Watson can improve a bit on his fielding but he is an outstanding player. We need to improve our fielding.’
Porterfield: ‘The batting was not great. We were not surprised with the pitch but one has to expect such pitches in this tournament. We were 40-50 runs short. We have some good players at the top of the order. We are confident that we can bounce back against the West Indies. ‘
