Brendon McCullum and Shahrukh Khan - Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
Kiwi wicketkeeper batsman Brendon McCullum might be the new skipper of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the second season of Indian Premier League (IPL).
Sourav Ganguly, the skipper of KKR in the season 1 might be replaced. The decision comes a day after the KKR director Cricket operations John Buchanan’s comments on the leadership issues. “We are deciding on the leadership issues,” Buchanan said in a Press conference on Monday.
There are chances of Ganguly being replaced but the team management is not ready to disclose anything yet. McCullum who only played just four matches in the Season 1 of the IPL, will be available for entire IPL season this year.
Meanwhile, Buchanan said thathe and his team would miss the Kolkata crowd during this year’s event. “We will lose the home advantage, Kolkata crowds are very passionate and get involved with team’s performance,” he said.
I do not think there is anything wrong, remember the Royal Challengers and the Deccan Chargers have already replaced their ‘India’ captains.
