The Indian top-order remained suspect against the short ball with Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma falling to miscued pulls. West Indies will look to exploit this weakness again in the second ODI. On the other hand Yuvraj and Karthik were in good touch in the first match. It is really a new era for the Indian team, with Yuvraj being the mainstay of the batting lineup.
The first match was quite close, West Indies were always up with the required run rate inspite of losing wickets at regular intervals.
