Just like James J Braddock, The Cinderella Man, no one gave Pakistan a chance of winning this World Cup. Reason being Pakistan had not played much cricket in the last 2 years, the 2 years when Twenty20 really took off. Pakistan’s players did not participate in the second edition of IPL as well, hence they were short on Twenty20 experience! Every player in Pakistan and India essentially grows up on Twenty20 cricket, as a batsman you just hit sixes and as a bowler you prevent the sixes, plain and simple.
