Younis Khan made this statement a few days back to a bemused set of reporters. Little did they know Pakistan would reach the finals by just having fun. Proabably the reason for Pakistan’s success was that they were having fun and playing the game that they have grown up playing in gallis (lanes) of Pakistan.
I have never really liked Younis Khan, and to be frank I always found him a boring player. But he is fast gaining my respect. His statement after the Lahore attack on Sri Lanka team was a heart touching one – ” Please dont take away cricket from my country. Cricket’s absence will lead a lot of kids down the wrong path”. His statement of “Twenty20 is fun cricket” was an honest assesment of the format. It is fun cricket and with one statement he lowered the expectations for his team and that enabled the players to play freely and enjoy the game. His response to the Kiwi accusation of ball tampering was perfect.
Respect brother, respect!

I would like 2 say somthing about Younis Khan.some says that Younis Khan is a boring player. But if they are having eyes, they should know that he is the 1,on whom u can trust, that he can and he did.He is a great great ………player. He fields good,he bats good.but 1 thing i would like 2 tell u that it is not the captain, these are the other players of team also becuse of whom the match is lost. They should know their responsiblity they are also the part of team and should to perform.the captain is only responsible to keep the field in better position and use the bowlers and batsman in proper time.So the captain is not guilty,
it is the whole team. And younis bhi good luck.
